Featured Member Interview

How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

I came across the site years ago while searching for fun DIY projects. I loved the site and wanted to become a member to share ideas and learn from other crafters as well.

What projects are you currently working on?

I’m preparing an intricate kirigami project for my best friend’s wedding. I hope it works out alright!

What does your craft space look like?

My craft space is pretty much anywhere I happen to be at the time (I often make random origami decorations when I’m bored). At home, I have tons of boxes stacked and sorted with crafting materials, and all of my tools are neatly stored away in a stationery/art box.

Which tool or craft supply do you use the most?

My main crafting tool would be a scalpel knife for kirigami projects. I find it to be more accurate for straight cuts, even when scissors would suffice.

What do you craft along to?

I usually put on favourite movies that I know very well while crafting. That way, I can follow the movie without actually watching it and craft at the same time.

Favorite Craft

I love paper crafts. From collages to origami and everything in between, I love to make something new from pretty much any paper product. My favourite things would be kirigami cards and decorations. I love cutting out intricate pieces by hand and see how it turns out in the end.

Miho's Top Crafts

If you could learn one new craft or make anything, what would it be?

I would love to make a Canadian Aboriginal woodcarving like a mask or totem pole. Aboriginal art fascinates me greatly and I would absolutely love to learn how to create beautiful pieces like they did hundreds of years ago.

Who are your crafting heroes?

Too many to choose from! I pretty much admire any crafter who can be creative with minimal materials or direction. The ones who have their own vision and style is something quite amazing.
