Using up the scraps
After all the other bits of felt jewellery making I wanted to use up bits and pieces that were left over.

  • Step 1

Wet felt lengths of roving into thin sausages. These can be one colour or many different.

  • Step 2

Use a mandrel to help make coils. These should be a fraction thinner then the felt sausages. Also make a centrepiece with the wire.

  • Step 3

Once the felt is dry then feed the sausages through the coils. Use more then you need and then cut them down to the same size. Bend the ends of the wire in with some pliers if you want to secure the felt in place.

  • Step 4

Thread the coils onto some elastic using some beads to space them out. Attach the centrepiece to the elastic at either side and tie off.
