Turn your pretty shells, rocks, and other beach findings into beautiful jewelry!
I found these pieces of sea glass and some shells from the beach by my house. My friend had made a cool wire-wrapped pendant from a rock recently, and I thought it would be a great use for them. So here we are!
Shells, rocks, sea glass, anything you want to make into a necklace
Wire cutters and pliers
a chain (for your pendant)

    Step 1

Pick out the object you want to use for a pendant. I picked a piece of green sea glass.

    Step 2

Take your wire (mine is in a spool) and unwind a certain amount of it, kind of straightening it with your fingers as you go along.

  • Step 3

Once you have enough wire, you can start wrapping! Leave about 2cm of wire and start wrapping in vertical lines, then move to horizontal. You can unwind more wire as you go along. (sorry my camera stopped working here so no more pics :(

  • Step 4

This part's tricky, especially without photos. When you've wrapped about as much as you feel is good, move the wire to the edge of the object and make a little wire loop with your finger. You can use the pliers to help if you need to. Then wrap a little more wire around the base of the loop. Stretch out about an inch and a half of wire and cut it with the wire cutters so you have a little tail.

  • Step 5

Bend the tail on the object and tuck it under one of the wire crosses you already made. Also do this with the tail from the beginning.

  • Step 6

Slip your pendant onto a chain and VOILA! A new necklace!
