Anyone seen a pattern for this type of shirt?
I saw this dress and loved to bust part of the dress. Does anyone know where I can get a pattern similar for the top half of the dress?
I would say look at the easy/cheap patterns at fabric stores. The seams in the front are similar to princess seams, so maybe make your own pattern with princess seams first and modify it to get what you want?
I've heard of princess seams. I look at it and and give it a try. Do you think a basic blouse pattern would work?
McCalls has a "Peplum" top, but with sleeves. Just leave the sleeves off (or draft pattern pieces for the straps...easy peasy!) (I think Simplicity has a "Lisette" brand pattern for a peplum top too, now that I think of it.) Good luck.
I really don't recommend the McCall's peplum pattern-if it's the same one I bought, the sizes of the shirt don't correspond with the fit. It was far too big in the bodice, and not in an easily salvageable way. I wasted hours and a nice piece of fabric on that pattern However, there are many drafting tutorials for bodices and pencil skirts, and peplums can be anything from a gathered piece of fabric to a very short circle skirt Hope this was helpful!
Burda has a pattern for a peplum top, I made it for myself and I really like it, it fits me perfectly
