How to make hair grow faster? Mane 'N Tail??
So, when I woke up today, my hair was near the middle of my back.
It was long and lovely.
Today, I went to get it trimmed, and the woman ended up cutting it above my shoulders (how this happened is a looooooong story that I'm not gonna get into) and put in way too many layers.
Now I know change is good, but this was an unexpected change that I didn't want or ask for.
And I know that it's just hair and it's gonna grow back (and my hair grows wicked fast, which is good for me), but I want it to grow back faster!
I know there's no overnight solution to this problem, but is there anything out there that could help me? I've heard that Mane 'N Tail helps in hair growth?
Thank you so much for your time!
Take prenatal vitamins and do scalp massage. (so I've heard) My hair grew super fast while I was preggo. Don't know if it was the vitamins alone, or if my loopy hormones had a part.
I don't think Mane 'N Tail makes it grow faster, but it's excellent at keeping your hair healthy and shiny while it grows out. I've used it (on and off) since I was a little girl. My mother has very fine hair and she swears by it. I think the most important part is to keep it trimmed while it grows out, be easy with rubber bands and such, and limit blow drying and heavy hair products. But, I'm not a scientist, so I'm not sure if that is 100% accurate information. I just know it works for me. ;)
I've been wondering what type of vitamins to take, so I'll look into those!
I've been trying to grow out my nails too, so I was thinking maybe grabbing some nail, skin and hair ones too.
Prenatal vitamins while not pregnant, while a common suggestion, are not the best idea. They do contain mass amounts of the wonderful vitamins your body needs but that's also the problem with them-they're meant for two, not one. it is possible that the body can develop a dependency on them and stop attempting to extract tho same chemicals during digestion, or try to compensate with other chemicals and throw your system out of balance.
I definitely recommend mane and tail though. You could use olive oil while massaging your scalp, or even egg whites, both of which have the raw proteins your hair needs to stay healthy and grow well.
an added note! Have you seen this hair style? put the bands on lightly, but the tension encourages your hair to grow.
On hair of the length you suggested, three to four bands are plenty.
Good luck, i hope this helps!!
They say brushing your hair gently with a soft-bristled brush (very often) brings blood flow to your scalp, helping your hair grow
My friend says that drinking aloe juice and eating gelatin is good for your hair and nails. I also recommend gently brushing to stimulate blood flow.
Eating jelly makes hair and nails grow faster. I just eat a packet of jelly babies at least twice a week and my hair grows almost three times faster than it used to now.
Don't worry about the prenatal vitamins. The excess vitamins go toward your hair growth--that's why it works! Almost every single beauty pageant contestant takes prenatal vitamins. Clearly, it isn't that unhealthy. Personally, I don't think it's unhealthy at all. Hand (nail)/hair models take them constantly, as well. I know I take them a lot of the time.
The trick is to take the amount recommended for pregnant/lactating women. If you take the amount recommended for women who are not pregnant or breast feeding, it's like taking a regular vitamin--hm, probably further proof that taking them is A-okay!
Good luck with growing it out!!! I have had that same problem several times. :-s If you want to gripe, I'm here for you!! ;)
Nice tips girls. I followed some other hair growth tips from some site and it worked for me in the last 3 months.
Use a brush with natural boar bristles.
Don't braid or put your hair in a ponytail when it is still wet
Avoid chemical treatmentssuch as bleaching, perms, coloring or highlighting.
Although the best thing to do, is to avoid using heat styling, it is still important to dry your hairs roots after washing it. I learnt this with a specialized doctor. The roots of our hair take a long time to dry whenever we wash it, between 2 and 3 days actually. Therefore, it is extremely important to dry it with a hair dryer. Do not forget the important thing to is, is to dry your hairs roots, not the ends. If you leave the ends wet, is no big deal.
Please DO NOT take vitamins that are not designed for you. Its very silly and no the "extra" vitamins do not go straight to your hair, they hardly have a sat nav to get them there do they? You will just end up urinating them out and it will be a waste of your time and money. There are plenty of vitamins specifically designed for Skin,Hair and Nails ( please see link below) or talk to a nutritionist who will talk you through your diet and see if there is anything you can change. Ultimately nothing will make your hair grow more quickly, but there are things out there to help with general hair health. Hope this helps
I don't know if prenatal vitamins can have an effect on their own, 'cause the biggest cause of hair growth during pregnancy are the hormones...they also make your feet grow during pregnancy
please DO NOT TAKE PRENATAL VItamines!! i tried them thinking that it help me with the growth of my hair instead i and up at the ER.
Trimming your hair maybe 1/2 inch at a time every 6 to 8 weeks is really in my opinion and experience, the best way to grow your hair out. Your hair grows at an average rate all the time. There are so many wives tales out there for hair growth. But, your hair only grows so fast. Keeping it trimmed and healthy is really the way to go. About the prenatal vitamins, they do have extra iron in them along with other minerals, but too much iron can cause an overdose. I'd be very careful with taking anything. Moderation always. And gelatin does help your nails grow, they become very healthy and that is what helps them to grow as with hair. Hope that helps you. Oh, I'm a medical assistant. I'm not an expert, but I listen to the Dr.'s I work for.
Most doctors encourage women trying to conceive to take prenatals BEFORE getting pregnant, not sure about hair growth, but they can't be *that* bad for you if doctors advise patients to take them before necessary.
I have very long nails & hair (to the top of my butt). Lol & I feel your pain. While I was trying to grow mine out, she "trimmed" half of it off & gave me the excuse that she "had to bc it was layered". Dumb.... So I cut/color my own hair now. Haha
The only thing that's really helped grow my own Hair, is to not wash it everyday. I Only wash it once/twice a week, so it keeps it's natural oils. & getting it trimmed every few weeks helps (but you've already done that lol).
Nothing has really made my nails grow, except waiting. Mine are Cruella Deville long, & they just naturally grow back within 2weeks if I break one. I only trim them if I see one broke on the side, & i trimm it to where it broke. You can try nail strengthening polishes, they have at most beauty stores, some even have vitamins in them.
Plus a healthy diet will dramatically help with both I've noticed. (I'm vegetarian).
