I love the idea of cooking lovely, delicious food and having the opportunity to make beautiful handcrafted products that will be personal to each individual based on their fabric choices and creative ideas. Hosting a gastro shindig is a great opportunity to share our knowledge and have fun at the same time.

Fairytale Blankets to Crochet

Shelf 51gtica4orl

Our #BookOfTheWeek is Fairytale Blankets to Crochet by Lynne Rowe. Read our #interview with Lynne, crochet a Deer Blanket and win a copy of the book from Search Press.

Hi, I’m Lynne and I’m a knit and crochet designer, tech editor, author and tutor. I love designing, and every day endless ideas pop into my head and I quickly reach for my note book and jot them down. At some point they will be sketched out and turned into a pattern for others to use. I really enjoy the process of sketching out an idea then choosing the right yarn in the right shade, and creating something to wear and love. One of my favourite things is to pass on my skills to others so that they can create lovely things too. There seems to be a never ending line of people wanting to learn to crochet (and knit) so it keeps me busy and I’ve made lots of new friends through my classes. As well as designing and teaching, I’m also a technical editor and this takes up at least half of my week. I mainly pattern check the maths, proofread, copy edit and format pages for design layout. I’ve worked on some amazing craft titles and love to help make crochet and knitting books the best they can be so that the lovely readers can recreate all of the projects

How did you find CO+K and why did you join?

Years ago when I first started crafting I found CO+K when I first started doing link parties. I loved how it brought so many crafters together in a way most sites don't.

What projects are you currently working on?

Summer clothes tops & maxi dresses for me, dresses for my 11yr old, shorts & rompers for my 3 and 15 month old. My insane fabric stash needs some busting! We have a big yard transformation about to start, so outdoor items will be on my list soon too.

Take a #KitchenTour at Sugarlovespices and see Loreto and Nicoletta's kitchen in Edmonton, Alberta.

It is cosy and eclectic. When we cook together, with my husband, there is a lot of bumping into each other, laughing and joking that we would get lost in a big kitchen.

I love the light as it comes pouring in the south facing window. The white painted brick combined with the steel windows, gives me the perfect back drop and brand aesthetic.

Kawaii Charms in Polymer Clay

Shelf 417tzz4njjl

Our #BookOfTheWeek is Kawaii Charms in Polymer Clay by Ruth Thompson. Meet Ruth, #sculpt a Panda Paper Clip and #win the book from Search Press.

Hi I'm Ruth Thompson, I'm 25 and I live in London. I've been crafting and making my whole life and I love sharing what I create with others. I started a YouTube channel called Kawaii Studios where I have taught people how to make polymer clay charms and other crafty items for over 8 years. This also led to me starting an Etsy shop (also called Kawaii Studios) where I sell my pieces and have also branched out into acrylic laser cut jewellery and stationery items like stickers.
